Beetroot and Goat’s Cheese Pasta
What’s the best type of pasta to eat? Wholegrain? White? Lentil pasta? Personally, I eat mostly wholegrain, except the night before a long run or race when I want to reduce my fibre intake (and don’t need the extra protein). If you’re eating this pre-run, then I’d suggest opting for the white refined version; however, the rest of the time, choose the pasta you like most. There are some amazing edamame and lentil options available, which have a higher protein and fibre content than traditional dried pasta. I prefer wholegrain for the taste and nutritional profile. But pasta should be enjoyed … so eat the one you like (and just measure out the appropriate portion).
